Complementary varietals are part of our vineyard such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Grolleau Noir, Grolleau Gris, Gamay, Pineau d'Aunis, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Keeping the vines healthy and in good condition is essential to be able to harvest grapes at optimal maturity .
Canopy management during the growing season is an important part of this process : pruning, shoot thinning and leaf removal are done by hand. Close monitoring for foliar disease and pests allow us to reduce quantities of products and adapt techniques of spray application. We are also transitioning to environment friendly phytosanitary products and practices.
Harvest usually starts in September and can last until late October. For most of our wines we use mechanical harvesters that work by gently vibrating the vines so the grapes are separated from their steims. Our Coteaux de l'Aubance, Anjou Blanc and Anjou Villages Brissac are essentially made from hand picked grapes.
